Adrian Burnett has been the Chair of SAMAG since 2019. He was appointed Senior Producer and Curator for New Annual, City of Newcastle’s flagship arts festival in September 2021. Previously he spent ten years at the Australia Council for the Arts where he held a number of Senior Leadership roles, including Director of Dance and Multi-Artform for the past six years. Adrian has demonstrated exceptional results as an arts leader with extensive national and international networks within arts, performance, and venue communities and government agencies, He possesses a wide range of skills, strategically leading and producing creative works. Throughout his career in various leadership roles including Board positions coupled with key contributions as an award-winning Choreographer and leading Dance Artist, he has played an instrumental role in developing and implementing innovative plans and strategies, building teams and processes to deliver compelling programs, best practice customer service, and efficient operations. He provides strategic leadership to a range of leading arts organisations to deliver successful artistic and financial outcomes.
