April Phillips

April Phillips is a Wiradjuri-Scottish woman of the Galari peoples of regional NSW. Working as a visual artist, arts educator, and audience specialist, April cross-pollinates modes of digital practice in unexpected ways. April has extensive experience in live virtual education and the ways digital literacy can drive increased access and result in social impact. Her Arts practice is cemented in computer-based arts; illustration, VR + AR research and in her role as a workshop facilitator for the Big hART ‘Digital Lab’ in Roebourne, WA.

Since early 2020, April has contributed to multi-modal digital arts learning nationally for the NEO-Learning platform as the Creative Learning Producer. In April’s visual arts practice her use of experimental play, vivid colours and unlikely digital processes celebrates the potential of computer art for a new world. @_april.p_
